The Shields Gazette reports that hundreds of people lined up alongside the Tyne in South Shields last night to bid farewell to the Queen Elizabeth 2.Fireworks were set off to mark the departure of the liner from the Tyne for the last time.

The QE2 will be leaving very soon Southampton in her Last Westbound Crossing to New York.
